Suzan Hughes has long been an advocate for children and their wellbeing. Her work at Herbalife propelled it into a billion-dollar-a-year business; additionally, Hughes founded the Herbalife Family Foundation which partners with local schools. Hughes has dedicated herself to studying wellness as part of her lifetime commitment to supporting the well-being of her fellow humans; particularly children.
Hughes recalls growing up on a special street in Toronto where everyone knew one another and looked out for each other as she believes these early experiences gave her empathy for underprivileged children and the passion to help them lead happy, healthy lives - which she continues through the Suzan Hughes Education Foundation (S.H.E).
As her legal battles surrounding Mark's departure progressed, she became acutely aware of the need to promote good parenting skills. In 2019, she took her mission one step further when she founded S.H.E. which advocates for children while providing strong guidance through gourmet parenting.
She contends in her lawsuit against trustees Pair and Klein that they reorganized the board to give themselves positions that would allow them to control Herbalife operations; citing this action as an obvious conflict of interest due to their roles as trustees of an trust which owns approximately 50% of Herbalife.
Hughes combines her charitable endeavors with producing and acting work. She designed Rollermax - an innovative foam roller that revolutionized fitness - as well as wrote, produced, and starred in Take 10 to a Better You exercise video - with part of its proceeds donated towards child advocacy organizations.
